castle of good hope:
dolphin room

The Castle of Good Hope is the oldest surviving building in South Africa. The Dolphin Room, situated within the Castle of Good Hope, got its name from the grand fountain which sits in the centre of the pond right in front of the venue. Legend has it that Lady Anne Barnard would bathe in the pond and was one of her favourite spots in the Castle. During restoration of the Castle, a replica of the magnificent fountain was rebuilt and sits in the Dolphin Pond.
